Terms of Service

Effective November 4, 2026  ·  Version 1.0  ·  Governed by the laws of the State of Maine, USA

This is the agreement between you and LemTech LLC for Strength Almanac. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

We are not going to pretend you read all of this, so here is the honest summary. It is a summary, not the agreement — the sections below are what actually governs.

  • Strength Almanac is a paid workout tracker. There is no free tier. The floor is Bronze at $1/month or $10/year. Every lifter pays something, and that is how the app stays clear of ads and data sales.
  • Every core tracking feature is in Bronze and always will be. We call this the Bronze Completeness Guarantee. Higher tiers add cosmetics and advanced analytics — never the basics.
  • Your training history is yours. You can export it, import it, and delete it. We do not sell it and we do not show you ads.
  • We handle billing through Apple and Google. They take your money, they issue your refunds, and you cancel through them — not through us.
  • If you publish something to the community or coach another lifter, other people see it. Be decent. There are rules, and we enforce them.
  • We are a very small company. The app will sometimes break. We are honest about that, and these terms limit what you can hold us liable for.

1. Who we are, and what this covers

Strength Almanac is operated by LemTech LLC, a Maine limited liability company. In these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean LemTech LLC. “You” means you.

These terms cover:

  • the Strength Almanac mobile app on iOS and Android,
  • any web version of the Strength Almanac app we offer,
  • your Strength Almanac account and the data in it,
  • the community, coaching, and any other feature we offer through those.

Together we call all of that the Service.

Another document is part of this agreement and you should read it:

  • Privacy Policy — what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.

If there is a conflict between this document and that one, the more specific document wins for its own subject matter.

2. Agreeing to these terms

You agree to these terms when you create an account, sign in, or use the Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service — and if you have already paid, see §6.7.

3. Who can use Strength Almanac

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to have an account.

Coach Mode specifically requires you to be 18 or older, or to have a parent or guardian’s consent. You confirm this when you first use a coaching feature.

If you are using Strength Almanac on behalf of a business or a team, you confirm you have the authority to accept these terms for that organisation.

You must not use the Service if we have previously terminated your account, unless we agree in writing that you may return.

4. Your account

  • Keep your credentials to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you think someone else has access.
  • One account per person. Do not share an account or sell it.
  • Give us a real email address. It is how we reach you about your account, your subscription, and anything that affects your data. If we cannot reach you, we cannot help you.
  • You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app: Profile → Danger zone → Delete my account. Deletion starts a 7-day grace period during which signing back in restores everything. After 7 days it is permanent and automatic. See the Privacy Policy for what that erases.

5. What Strength Almanac is — and what it is not

Strength Almanac is a workout tracking tool. It records what you lift, shows you your history, calculates estimates from your own logged sets, and — on higher tiers — computes training analytics from that same data.

It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist, or qualified professional. Nothing in the app diagnoses, treats, or prevents anything.

  • Estimated one-rep maxes, volume figures, readiness signals, and any other analytic are estimates computed from numbers you typed in. They are not measurements and they are not prescriptions.
  • Program templates, including any named after a training style, are starting points, not personalised plans.
  • Lifting weights carries a real risk of injury. You decide what to lift. You are responsible for your own health and safety. Talk to a doctor before starting or changing a training programme, especially if you have an existing condition, an injury, or are pregnant.
  • Exercise guidance. Exercise descriptions, demonstrations, setup instructions, and safety cues are general educational information, not individualized instruction or medical advice. Exercise carries inherent risks. Users should evaluate their abilities, use suitable equipment, begin with manageable loads, and stop when conditions become unsafe. Users should seek qualified guidance when appropriate. Nothing in this section excludes liability that applicable law does not permit LemTech to exclude.
  • If a coach uses the Service to advise you, that advice is theirs, not ours. See §10.

6. Money: subscriptions, tiers, and billing

6.1 There is no free tier

Strength Almanac is a paid app. The lowest tier is Bronze at $1/month or $10/year. We do not offer a permanent no-cost plan, and we never describe the app as costing nothing. That is the whole business model: you pay a small amount, and in exchange we do not sell ads, sell your data, or build dark patterns into the app.

6.2 The Bronze Completeness Guarantee

All core workout tracking is included in Bronze. Logging workouts, following programs, personal records, RIR/RPE, supersets, the plate calculator, and exporting and importing your own data are in Bronze and will stay in Bronze. We will not move a core tracking feature to a higher tier later.

Higher tiers add cosmetic prestige and — at Gold — advanced Training Intelligence analytics. Those are genuine upgrades. They are not the tracker.

6.3 Prices and Offers

Subscription tiers, prices, introductory offers, and other purchases available to a user are displayed within Strength Almanac and through Apple’s App Store purchase process.

The applicable price, billing period, introductory-offer eligibility, and purchase conditions are those confirmed in the App Store purchase sheet when the user authorizes the transaction.

Pricing information on our website is informational and may not list every available offer, including limited promotional and limited-number lifetime purchases.

If pricing information displayed in the app differs from the App Store purchase confirmation, the user should not complete the purchase and should contact LemTech for clarification. No purchase is completed without the user’s authorization through the applicable purchase process.

6.4 Trial

New accounts created after public launch get a 14-day trial of full Gold access. When the trial ends, you move to whichever tier you have chosen.

Because there is no free tier, you choose a paid tier when you sign up, and the trial grants Gold on top of that tier. When the 14 days end, the Gold access simply stops and you continue on the tier you already chose — for most people, Bronze at $1/month.

Day 15 removes an entitlement. It does not create a charge you did not agree to. If you have chosen nothing beyond the floor tier, you land on Bronze, which includes all core workout tracking under the Bronze Completeness Guarantee.

We never lock you out of your own training history. Reading what you have logged and exporting it are never restricted — not when a trial ends, not when you downgrade, and not if your subscription lapses. Your logged history is retained and remains exportable at every tier, during and after the trial.

What does pause without an active subscription is logging new training. If you have no active subscription — because you cancelled it, or because a renewal payment failed — the app stops accepting new workout entries until a subscription is active again. Nothing you have already logged is deleted, hidden, or made harder to get out; resubscribing restores logging immediately.

This pause is a safety net, not the ordinary path. Because you agree to a tier when you sign up, the ordinary end of a trial leaves that subscription running, and nothing pauses on day 15.

Trial terms are set by the app store you signed up through, and the store’s own rules on trial eligibility apply — for example, you generally get one trial per store account, not one per app install.

This is not the same thing as the beta-tester reward. People who tested Strength Almanac before public launch receive three months of Gold at no charge, granted directly rather than as a store trial. That grant is separate from the 14-day trial described above, follows different rules, and does not consume your store trial eligibility.

6.5 How billing works, and who takes your money

We do not process payments. Subscriptions are sold and billed by the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, depending on where you bought. Your card details never reach us and we never see them.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, unless you cancel first.
  • You cancel through the store, not through us. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Cancelling keeps your access until the end of the period you already paid for. You are never cut off mid-cycle.
  • Your entitlement is tied to your Strength Almanac account, not to a device, and syncs across platforms. If a purchase does not appear, use “Restore purchases.”

6.6 Refunds

We cannot issue refunds. We do not hold your money — Apple and Google do, and their refund policies govern.

  • App Store: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the charge, request a refund.
  • Google Play: Play Store app → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history → find the order → Request a refund.

If a store refunds a purchase, we may remove the corresponding access.

6.7 If you do not accept these terms

If you do not agree to these terms — including a change to them under §19 — stop using the Service and cancel through your app store. Because we do not process payments, any refund for the unused part of a period is a decision for Apple or Google, not for us. See §6.6.

6.8 What “lifetime” means

Gold Founding Lifetime costs US$99 once, with no recurring subscription charge, and provides Gold access for as long as Strength Almanac remains in operation. “Lifetime” refers to the product’s operating life, not your lifetime; no minimum operating period is promised.

We will not require a further subscription payment for the Gold access included in this purchase. Access may end upon permanent discontinuation under §13.3 or lawful termination for a material breach under §14. Before termination for a remediable breach, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure. Immediate suspension remains available where reasonably necessary to address serious harm, security risks, or unlawful conduct.

6.9 Price changes

We may change prices. If we raise the price of a subscription you already hold, you will be told before it applies — through the app store’s own notice process and in the app — and you can cancel before the new price takes effect. A price change never applies retroactively to a period you have already paid for, and it never applies to a lifetime purchase you have already made.

6.10 Beta Founder Benefits

Each eligible person who held a genuine Strength Almanac beta account on November 4, 2026, the day these Terms take effect, receives three months of Gold access at no charge, beginning on that date, and a permanent Beta Founder badge. Internal and test accounts are excluded.

This benefit is granted directly by LemTech and does not create an Apple App Store subscription, payment authorization, or recurring charge.

When the three-month Gold period ends, the user may choose a paid subscription. No subscription starts and no payment is charged without the user’s affirmative purchase authorization.

If no paid tier is selected, the ability to log new workouts is suspended. The user retains access to read existing workout history and export their data.

The Beta Founder badge remains associated with the user’s account while that account exists, regardless of subsequent subscription status.

This section describes a binding commitment to eligible beta participants.

7. Your content and your data

7.1 You own your stuff

You own everything you create in Strength Almanac — your workout logs, your programs, your notes, your measurements, your profile. We do not claim ownership of any of it.

7.2 The permission you give us

To run the Service we need permission to handle your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, back up, transmit, process, and display your content — only for the purpose of operating and improving the Service for you.

That licence is deliberately narrow. It does not let us sell your content, publish it, use it in marketing, or hand it to anyone else for their own purposes.

Sharing with Other Users and Moderation

Strength Almanac keeps your private workout information and measurements separate from its community features.

Other users may see information through the following features:

  1. Coaching. If you invite a coach or accept a coachee, the coach can see your workouts, programs, personal records, training analytics and, unless you hide them, body measurements, for as long as the relationship is active. You can end it at any time. See §10.
  2. Community programs. If you publish a program to the community, its name, description, structure and your display name are visible to other users. Your workout logs, records and measurements are not part of it.
  3. Following. If you turn on sharing, the lifters who follow you can see the finished workouts, personal records and achievements you choose to share, under your public name.
  4. The achievements leaderboard. If you are on Silver or Gold you appear on the achievements leaderboard under a generated name, with your achievement points and achievement count, unless you hide yourself. If you choose to share titles, it also shows the names of those achievements. Anyone can read the leaderboard, including on our website without an account, and search engines may index it.

Authorized moderators may review publicly shared content, reports, and relevant account information to enforce our Community Content Policy, including when another person submits a report.

These community-sharing arrangements are separate from the limited processing performed by service providers as described in our Privacy Policy.

7.3 Content you publish or send to others

When you publish a program to the community, or share content with a coach or coachee, you grant other users the permission they need to view, use, and — for community programs — clone that content within the Service. Cloning carries your display name as attribution.

This permission survives your account. If you delete your account, programs other lifters have already cloned stay in their libraries — deleting your account cannot reach into someone else’s training history and delete it. Your name and profile are removed.

You are responsible for having the right to share anything you publish. See §8.

7.4 Export and import — your data is yours

Export and import are included in Bronze, the lowest paid tier, on purpose. You can take a copy of your training history out at any time, in a standard format, and you can bring data in.

We will not gate export behind a higher tier, hold your history hostage to keep you subscribed, or degrade export to make leaving harder.

7.5 Deletion

Delete your account in the app — Profile → Danger zone → Delete my account. There is a 7-day grace period, then permanent automatic erasure. You can also email [email protected] to request deletion or a copy of your data. The Privacy Policy has the full detail of what survives deletion — principally records of abuse reports made about your account.

Separately, and this is not deletion: if your subscription lapses and the account then goes 90 days without being opened, we clear the personal details from the profile — display name, email address, bio, and gym. Your logged training is not deleted by that, and signing back in and resubscribing picks up where you left off. We do it because there is no reason for us to keep personal details attached to an account nobody is using.

8. What you may not do

Do not use Strength Almanac to:

  • Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
  • Post or send objectionable content — harassment, hate speech, threats, sexual content, content that sexualises minors, graphic violence, or content that demeans a person or group. We have zero tolerance for this.
  • Impersonate another person, a coach, a brand, or us.
  • Publish content you do not have the right to publish — including someone else’s copyrighted material, or a real person’s name or likeness used to imply an endorsement.
  • Promote dangerous or disordered behaviour — extreme restriction, purging, self-harm, or performance-enhancing drug protocols.
  • Spam — advertising, referral schemes, repetitive junk, or bulk-published low-quality programs.
  • Attack the Service — probing, scraping, brute-forcing, circumventing rate limits, bypassing tier or access controls, or attempting to reach data that is not yours.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or resell the app or the Service, except where law says you may.
  • Automate account creation, publishing, upvoting, or coaching invitations.
  • Manipulate community rankings — vote rings, sockpuppets, or coordinated upvoting.
  • Falsify your data to gain something — a badge, a ranking position, or a founding slot.
  • Use the Service to give medical advice or hold yourself out as a licensed professional when you are not.

If you find a security vulnerability, please tell us at [email protected] before you tell anyone else. We will not pursue you for a good-faith report.

9. Community content and moderation

If you publish to the community, or communicate with another user, our community content rules apply. In summary:

  • You must agree to the rules before you can publish. The app makes you tick a box every time.
  • Everything you publish is filtered for objectionable language before it goes live.
  • Anyone can report content, from the content itself, in two taps.
  • You can block another user so their content stops reaching you.
  • Content that accumulates enough reports is hidden automatically, pending review.

The Following feed shows a lifter’s activity only to lifters they have approved. You can report or block any lifter from the feed or from your Followers list. A lifter who is reported by several different lifters is hidden from the feed while we review.

If you link Discord and join our Discord server, the server’s own rules and Discord’s terms apply there, and you can report or block a member with Discord’s own tools.

10. Coaching

Coach Mode lets one lifter view another lifter’s training data and offer guidance. Both directions are opt-in and either party can end the relationship at any time.

  • A coach is not our employee, agent, or partner. We do not vet, certify, endorse, employ, or supervise coaches. Anyone can become one.
  • Advice from a coach is theirs, not ours. We are not responsible for it, and we make no representation about any coach’s qualifications, competence, or safety.
  • A coach is not your doctor. You confirm you understand this before the relationship starts.
  • What a coach can see: your workouts, programs, personal records, training analytics, and — unless you turn on “Hide body data from coach” — your body measurements. A coach never sees your email, your password, your payment details, or your account controls.
  • A coach cannot edit your data. They can comment and suggest; you accept or ignore.
  • Either side can end it immediately. Revoking is instant. Comments already made stay as read-only history so the record of what was said is not erased.
  • Coaching activity is logged, and both parties can see the log. It exists so coaching stays accountable.
  • If money changes hands between you and a coach, that is between you and them. We are not a party to it, we do not process it, and we will not mediate it.

If a coach behaves badly, report them in the app (Coach → menu → Report) and revoke access.

11. Our content and intellectual property

The Strength Almanac app, its name, logo, design, code, exercise database, program templates, written copy, achievements, and everything else we made are ours (or our licensors’), and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other law.

We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own training. That licence does not let you copy, resell, sublicense, or build a competing product from our content.

Some exercise metadata and reference material is licensed from third parties or drawn from open sources. Where a third party’s terms require attribution, we provide it in the app.

Program templates named after a training style are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any athlete or brand. Names describe well-known training approaches for identification only. All trademarks belong to their owners.

Copyright complaints. If you believe content on Strength Almanac infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: what was infringed, where it is, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and you are authorised to act, and your signature.

Designated DMCA agent (registered with the U.S. Copyright Office, registration number DMCA-1081780): service provider LemTech LLC; alternate names Strength Almanac, strengthalmanac.com; agent Jeff Lemieux; e-mail [email protected].

12. Third-party services

We use other companies to run the Service. Their handling of data is covered in the Privacy Policy; their terms are their own:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and backend hosting.
  • Apple and Google — app distribution, push notifications, and all payment processing.
  • RevenueCat — subscription entitlement management.
  • Sentry — crash diagnostics in production builds.
  • Expo — push notification delivery.
  • Resend — delivery of account email: confirmation, password reset, and security notices.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of our website, including this page.
  • Discord — only if you choose to link your account, to show your plan as a role on our server.

The app may link out to third-party sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.

13. Availability, changes, and shutdown

13.1 We do not promise the Service will always work

We will try hard to keep Strength Almanac running. We do not guarantee it will be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost. Keep your own backups — that is exactly why export is in the cheapest tier.

13.2 We will change the Service

We add, change, and remove features. Some changes will not suit you. We will not, however, remove a core tracking feature from Bronze (§6.2), and we will not break your existing training history — if we change how something is stored or named, your logged history comes with it.

13.3 If we shut down

If we decide to discontinue Strength Almanac, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email and in the app, stop taking new payments, and keep export working for the whole notice period so you can take your training history with you.

14. Suspension and termination

You can leave any time — cancel through your app store, delete your account in the app.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, if your account is being used to harm other users, or if you have not paid.

  • For serious violations — objectionable content, harassment, threats, sexualised content involving minors, or attacks on the Service — we may terminate immediately and without notice.
  • Otherwise we will normally warn you first and give you a chance to fix it.
  • If we terminate you for something you did not do, email [email protected]. We will look again.
  • If we terminate your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your data first.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination do: §7.3 (content others already have), §11, §15, §16, §17, and §18.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We specifically do not warrant that:

  • the Service will meet your requirements or be available uninterrupted, secure, or error-free;
  • any estimate, analytic, calculation, or recommendation the app produces is accurate;
  • any program template or coach’s advice is safe or suitable for you;
  • data will never be lost or corrupted.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. If you live somewhere that does not, some of the above may not apply to you, and you may have rights this section cannot take away. Nothing here limits any right you have under mandatory consumer-protection law.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or loss of business, however caused.
  • We are not liable for injury arising from your training. You decide what to lift. See §5.
  • We are not liable for what a coach tells you, or for what any other user does. See §10.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

That cap is small because the price is small. It is part of how a $1/month app can exist.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else your local mandatory consumer law protects. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with such protections, they apply and this section yields to them.

17. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did — content you published, a term you broke, a right you infringed, or harm you caused another user — you agree to defend and indemnify us against that claim, including reasonable legal fees. This does not apply to the extent the claim arises from our own wrongdoing.

18. Disputes and governing law

18.1 Informal resolution

Before starting a court proceeding, please email [email protected] with a brief description of the dispute and the resolution requested. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve it within 30 days after receiving your notice. This process does not restrict small-claims proceedings, urgent relief, reports to government agencies, or steps necessary to preserve a claim before a legal deadline. We will not assert a contractual deadline or limitations defense based on time spent in this 30-day process.

18.2 Governing law

Maine law governs these Terms, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules, except that this choice does not deprive consumers of protections that cannot lawfully be waived under the law otherwise applicable to them.

18.3 Courts

Subject to the exceptions below, disputes arising from these Terms or the Service must be brought in a Maine state court with proper subject-matter jurisdiction and venue, or in the United States District Court for the District of Maine if federal subject-matter jurisdiction exists. You and LemTech LLC consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

You may instead bring an eligible claim in a small-claims court serving the place where you reside or in Maine. LemTech LLC consents to personal jurisdiction there for that claim. Nothing in this section restricts a consumer’s nonwaivable right to bring proceedings in another court.

These Terms do not require arbitration or waive any right to a jury trial, class proceeding, or representative proceeding that applicable law provides.

18.4 If part of this is unenforceable

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force.

19. Changes to these terms

We will change these terms from time to time. When we do:

  • we update the version and effective date at the top;
  • for any change that materially affects your rights, your money, or your data, we will tell you inside the app and by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, so you can cancel if you do not like it;
  • for minor changes — fixing a typo, clarifying wording, adding a service provider — we update the page and the effective date.

Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not accept it, cancel through your app store and delete your account.

We will not quietly move the goalposts.

20. Apple and Google

Because the app is distributed through their stores, some terms are required by them:

  • This agreement is between you and LemTech LLC, not with Apple or Google. They are not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support for the app. Support is ours — email [email protected].
  • Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • Apple and Google are not responsible for addressing any claim you have about the app — including product liability, a claim that the app fails to conform to a legal requirement, or a claim under consumer-protection law.
  • If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple or Google, are responsible for the defence and settlement of that claim.
  • You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and are not on any US government restricted-parties list.
  • You must comply with any third-party terms that apply to your use of the app.

21. The rest

  • Entire agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce something, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a successor if the business is sold or reorganised — and if we do, we will tell you.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for a failure caused by something genuinely outside our control.
